Why Play-Based Learning Matters in Early Childhood

Research consistently shows that young children learn best through play. When kids build with blocks, they're learning math and spatial reasoning. When they play pretend, they're developing language and empathy. When they paint and draw, they're strengthening the fine motor skills needed for writing.

Our daily schedule balances structured learning with plenty of free play. Teachers use play-based activities to introduce letters, numbers, shapes, and colors in ways that feel natural and engaging to young learners.

Outdoor play is just as important. Running, climbing, and exploring builds gross motor skills and confidence — and even in Minot's cold winters, we make sure kids get active time in our indoor gym.
